Kathleen Honora Ahern Clark, 103, passed away Sunday evening July 25, at Lompoc Comprehensive Care Center.
Kathleen was born in Santa Ana, California on November 28, 1906 to Antoinette and Philip Ahern. She attended Tustin High School. Married to Percy C. Clark, Sr. on January 2, 1925, she had two children, Percy C. Clark, Jr. and Elinor Bigonger of Lompoc. She had nine grandchildren: Kathleen Garland of Lompoc, Jeff and Randy Bigonger of Yorba Linda, John Bigonger of Nevada, Sharon Clark of Lompoc, Michele Thompson of Idaho, Michael Clark of Arizona, and step grandchildren Brenda Crane of Lompoc and Wayne Bowen of Missouri. She was blessed with 15 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Kathleen celebrated her 100th birthday in 2006 surrounded by her family and friends.
Kathleen was a member of the National Woman's Relief Corps, Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic for over 50 years. Their purpose was to raise money for flags and support the Long Beach Veterans Hospital and the Veterans Retirement Home.
Kathleen lived in Orange County until 1995, when she moved to Lompoc and resided with Percy and Margaret Clark. Her husband preceded her in death in 1985. Kathleen is survived by her sister Isabelle Harris of Oklahoma.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
