IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen Marie
Rusnic
September 5, 1952 – July 29, 2022
Leaving her family in profound sadness, Kathleen Marie Rusnic, who was known lovingly as "Mema" passed away on July 29, 2022. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
Kathleen had a heart of gold and a beautiful soul that will never be forgotten. She taught her family how to love deeply. She reminded them often as they battled back and forth on who loved each other more, that no matter what, she loved them first.
She was born on September 5, 1952 in Oakland, California, to Earl and Ophelia Gregg. Kathleen had seven siblings and graduated from Richmond High School in 1970.
Kathleen had the benefit of a long and successful career as an Electrical Technician, for an Aerospace Company and supporting contractors on Vandenberg Air Force Base, retiring in 2008.
Kathleen and her husband William R. Rusnic recently celebrated their 51 st wedding anniversary. She will forever be Bill's "Sunshine," and they will always be each other's "Sweets."
Her love for Bill and all of her kids will live on forever. Mema made her family laugh often with her wild and crazy ideas.
She thought of others before herself and was incredibly giving. This final selfless act of organ donation is a perfect final chapter in her book of life. Her family is so proud and honored that she has decided to help others in this way. We thank God for her time here on Earth and know we will see her again.
Kathleen is survived by her husband William R. Rusnic; children Kathleen Jackson, Kimberly (Greg) Alvarado, William Rusnic Jr., Robert (Alex) Rusnic, Kammie (Brandon) Perkins; siblings William Gregg and Kristine McLaughlin; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Earl Gregg, mother Ophelia Bolan and siblings Laurie Gregg, Johanna Gregg, Earl Gregg Jr., Ellen "Crickett" Lichtenberg and Jon Brady.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery Pavilion, located at 600 South C Street, Lompoc, CA 93436. In lieu of flowers, please consider helping connect patients and organ donors with a charitable donation made to OneLegacy.org.
