Obituary

Kennedy Monroe Person Jr., affectionately known as "Kenny," was born on March 14, 1953, in Bakersfield, California, to proud parents Kennedy M. Person Sr. and Priscilla. He was baptized at an early age, marking the beginning of a life full of love, care, and devotion to those around him.

Kenny lived in Bakersfield and attended school there until he was in the 11th grade. At that time, the family relocated to Santa Barbara, where he continued his education and grew into the person many came to cherish.

Throughout his life, Kenny had the privilege of being loved by two wonderful stepparents, James Sanders and "Mama" Lucille Christmas, whom he was very fond of. He enjoyed spending summers and holidays with his biological father and stepmother, creating lasting memories of camping, traveling to adventure parks, and visiting beautiful beaches.

As the only boy among his siblings, Kenny was taught by his father to always care for his mother and two sisters. He dutifully followed his father's guidance throughout his life, ensuring their well-being. When his stepfather entered the picture, Kenny graciously gave up his seat at the head of the table but continued to protect and care for his family, staying true to the lessons he learned early in life.

In his youth, Kenny was an active member of Cub Scout Pack 37, where he marched in many parades. One of his fondest childhood memories was receiving a ventriloquist dummy for Christmas, which he affectionately named Danny "O" Day. Kenny loved to entertain, believing himself to be a ventriloquist as he made the dummy come to life.

After Kenny moved to Santa Barbara, he met Nezzie Hall, the love of his life. The two became inseparable, and Kenny enlisted in the U.S. Navy shortly after high school, with Nezzie faithfully waiting for his return. Their love only grew stronger with time, and they married soon after his service. Together, they frequently traveled to the Bay Area to visit Nezzie's family, as well as Kenny's sisters and friends, who adored both of them.

As the years passed, Kenny became Nezzie's devoted caretaker. He took his vows seriously, ensuring that his wife was well cared for. Kenny was unwavering in his dedication to Nezzie, believing no one could care for her as well as he could. He remained by her side until her passing in November 2023.

Kenny is survived by his mother, Priscilla Livingston, and stepfather, Freddie Livingston. His siblings: Brothers; Gregory Anderson (Marilyn), Mitchell Person(Audrey), Brian Person.
