Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Cooper was born February 18, 1928, in Crystal Falls, Michigan to Frank and Ann Cooper. He went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2012 in Lompoc, California.

Ken's parents moved from Michigan to Glendale, California in 1936.
Ken graduated from Glendale high school where he met his future wife Dorothy. They were high school sweethearts and married in 1949. In 1951 Ken received his Masters Degree in Political Science from UCLA. Ken taught school 6 years. He had a distinguished career with Pfizer pharmaceuticals where he earned several top sales awards. Ken retired at the young age of 49.

Ken's family moved from La Crescenta, California to Lake Tahoe, Nevada where they built a beautiful home in Incline Village where they lived for 13 years. He and Dorothy were avid golfers and members of the Incline Village Country Club. In 1996 they moved to Lompoc, where they were members of the Village Country Club.

Ken and Dorothy traveled extensively throughout the United States, China, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

Ken had a strong faith in the Lord and taught Sunday school for several years at Lutheran Church of the Foothills in La Canada.

Ken is survived by Dorothy his wife of 63 years, his daughters Gail (Jack) Konrade, Jan (John) Greene, and Beth (Jonathan) Dales, his grandchildren Lindsey and Jarrod Greene, his brother Ron (Peggy) Cooper and family of La Crescenta and his brother-in-law Dale (Norma Jean) Zuelow of La Canada. Ken was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather and all around great man. He will be missed by all. Ken will be remembered lovingly for his love of family, sense of humor, passion for sports and his devotion to Dorothy.

The celebration of Ken's life will be on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 2 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 1600 Berkeley Drive in Lompoc. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church.
