Kenneth Harold George Sitzler was born to Hugo Sr. and Opal Sitzler in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on September 25, 1925, and was called to his Heavenly Home after 88 years of faithful service on April 21, 2014.

He married Perle Elizabeth (Betsy) Neuhaus on August 21, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, and was blessed with 65 years of marriage.  He was a loving father to 4 children, Timothy Dale, Nancy Jo, Peggy Lu, and Susan Diane.  He had 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

He served his country in World War II aboard the battleship USS North Carolina, and again in Korea aboard the hospital ship USS Repose.

He moved to Lompoc with his family in 1961 while employed by the aerospace industry.  In 1975 he began working for the City of Lompoc in the Electric Department, retiring in 1996.

A memorial service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, 135 S E St., at 11:00 am on Saturday April 26.
