Kenneth E. Gorrell of Lompoc died Tuesday, December 24, 2007, at the age of 77.

Kenneth was born November 2, 1930, in Coolville, Ohio, to Thomas and Elsie Gorrell. After graduating from high school in 1951, he joined the United States Air Force. While in the military, he attended the University of Florida and the University of New York, earning a master's degree in pharmacology. Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retiring as a chief master sergeant after serving a 26-year tour in 1977.

Formerly of Wiesbaden, Germany, Kenneth had been a resident of Lompoc since 1973. He was a member of the North Avenue Baptist Church, the Lompoc Grange, and the Viet Nam Veterans Association. He was a board certified pharmacist in the State of New York. As a young family man, he enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball. In his retirement years, he enjoyed bowling and gardening.

Ken is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Caroline and Jimmy Camacho, Linda Myjak and Mike Barrientoz, and Sharon and Donald Studds, all of Lompoc; his son, Larry Gorrell, of Santa Maria; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Bob Cornell, of Parkersburg, West Virginia; sister, Frances Lutz, of Belpre, Ohio; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Rene Gorrell, in 1994.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007, in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary followed by interment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
