LaRae Pearl Ybarra, age 69 died Oct. 5th, 2011 at her home in Lompoc.
A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Tuesday Oct.11 at Peace Lutheran Church in Lompoc with Pastor Russ Gordon officiating. Interment will be at Lompoc Cemetery.

LaRae was born in Forest City, Iowa on December 14, 1941, the daughter of Raymond and Pearl Hanna. LaRae was raised as a farm girl in Winnebago County, Iowa. She attended Forest City High School. After marrying and beginning her family, she moved to Lompoc in 1962 where she raised her children and became a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She was employed by Lompoc Unified School District, later in local real estate and other ventures. In 1984, LaRae began a career with Santa Barbara County as a Corrections Officer. She found that work very fulfilling and believed it to be her true and Christian call. She retired from the County in 2001.
LaRae met Wayne A. Ybarra in 1987, who became the love of her life. They married in 1991 and she helped her raise her step son Danny. They spent 21 wonderful years together making their home in Lompoc.

LaRae's life was filled with the enjoyment of her friends, family and especially her children and baking cookies with grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the casino, travel and fishing in Canada. She volunteered time at Peace Lutheran Church and loved worship and bible study there. LaRae spent recent winters in McAllen, Texas, with relatives and friends at W&I Resort.

She is survived by her loving husband of 21 happy years Wayne Ybarra, her children Susan, Sherry and Scott and Wayne's children Cindy and Danny and their spouses, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother Lyle Hanna his wife MaryKay, sister-in-law Peggy Hanna, nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles and many cousins.

LaRae was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Lynn Hanna and baby Duden.
