Obituary

Laurence Cazenave
1923-2008

Laurence (Larry) Simon Cazenave, 85, died at his home after a relentless battle with Alzheimers. Most of his friends called him "Spots" and his cutomers called him Hey Culligan Man!

Born July 25, 1923, in Lompoc, he was the son of Simon and Martha Cazenave. He graduated from Lompoc High School in 1942. After serving in Army during World War II, Larry began Culligan Water Conditioning, in a small garage with a handful of customers. His business grew and so did his heart when he met a young girl named Nancy from Alabama. Larry and Nancy were married on December 9, 1961, and had four children, Marty, Toni, Eleanor and Tammy.

Although Larry never officially retired , he enjoyed spending time at home with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grand child. Larry had a natural knack for making everyong feel important and valued because he believed it. He loved his family, the business he built, his town and his country.

Larry's legacy continues with his wife Nancy, son Marty Cazenave, of Rancho Cucamonga, Califonria, Daughters, Tim and Toni Brooks, of Lompoc, John and Eleanor Alexander, of Kansas City, Kansas, Donnie and Tammy Decker, of Lompoc, grandchildren and a great grand child.

Larry was a member of La Purisima Catholic Church, Charter Member of the Lion's Club of Lompoc, Charter Member of Elks Lodge 2274, Charter Member of the Moose Lodge, Valley Club, original Model T Club, 20/30 Club, Water Quality Association, Pacific Water Quality Association, and the Chamber of Commerce.

A funeral mass will be celebrated today at Queen of Angels Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. with Msgr. John Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
