Obituary
Laurel Sue Romero of Lompoc died Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the age of 72.
Laurel was born July 9, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Russell and Nadine Curry. Raised and educated in Virginia, she came to Santa Barbara County in the 1960s and completed her education by earning an associate's degree at Santa Barbara City College. Before becoming a fulltime mother and homemaker she was employed as a quality control inspector for a medical device manufacturer in Goleta. A resident of Lompoc for more than 20 years, she enjoyed photography and spending time with her family. She was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene.
Laurel is survived by her husband of 32 years Alfred Romero, her son Stephen Brant Wall, Jr. of Ventura, her daughters Melissa "Missey" Jo Boothe of Lompoc, Donna Lynn Bennett of Solvang, Annette Nadine Ortiz of Ventura, her son Anthony Daniel Parker of Santa Ynez, 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Friday, April 3, 2015, at 11 am in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Solvang.
