IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lauri L.
Johnson
February 15, 1957 – May 12, 2018
Lauri L. Johnson passed away May 12, 2018. She was born in Aberdeen, Washington February 15, 1957 and lived her first year in a house built by her Uncle Dan, after which she moved to Lompoc with her mother and brother. As a teen, she excelled in athletics, first in softball and then in tennis. She was a 1974 graduate of Lompoc High, then she headed for California State University Fresno, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Finance. For thirty years, she worked at New England Sheet Metal in Fresno.
Family meant a lot to her, and her trips to Lompoc were frequent. At Christmas, she thoroughly enjoyed filling up her "sleigh", as she called it, with gifts for the whole family. Despite and early diagnosis of MS, she also managed to do some traveling and even went sailing. Her favorite trips were to New Orleans and to Washington State, coming home by way of the coastal lighthouses.
She is remembered for her infectious laugh, her feisty spirit, her generous nature and her amazing talent as a dollhouse builder.
Lauri was preceded in death by her parents Clinton and Cordelia Johnson. She is survived by her brother Ron Johnson, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
