Our precious Lawrence is in the loving care of our Heavenly Father. The son of the Inez and Hilaria Alvarado family of the Goleta Valley, he is brothers to Raymond and Amador, Carolina, Eleanor, Patsy, Inez Jr., Jack, and Lenora, as well as a loving Tio to many. How we miss the tenderness and strength of his embrace. A man of love - His life was truly dedicated to his wife Dora and their children Rose, Anna, Peter, Tommy, their spouses, loved ones and his darling grandchildren. A proud and dedicated US Army Veteran of Korea and Germany, his sense of honor and loyalty was endless. A gentleman, an entrepreneur, a patient creative soul whose heart swelled when others found sobriety and peace; he claimed each of us as a promise and a hope for the future. Lawrence basked in tranquility among his flowers, his birds, and his faithful friends Molly, Ruby, and Lucy. His love for all of us is eternal.

Vigil services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Lawrence Santos, celebrating. Private Inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
