Lawrence F. Bubba of Lompoc died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the age of 84.

Larry was born April 2, 1929, in Easton, Pennsylvania to Antonio and Antoinetta Bubba. He was raised and educated in Easton including graduation from Lafayette College with a bachelor's degree in metallurgy. He completed his education by earning a master's degree in engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He joined the United States Air Force retiring after 20 years of service including active duty during the Korean War. After his retirement from the military he went to work for Lompoc Unified School District in its maintenance department.

Formerly of Dayton, Ohio, Larry has been a resident of Lompoc since 1965. He was an avid golfer and a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees. He was an active member of the Queen of Angels parish.

Larry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Candise and Dean Dzwoniarek of Capay, California, daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Steve Clayton of Santa Maria, son and daughter-in-law Antony Bubba and Leslie Scheurer of Fair Oaks, California, son Mike Bubba of Lompoc, grandchildren Zach Clayton, Dominic Bubba and Colleen Bubba and his sister Bette Hann of Easton. He was preceded in death by his wife Libby Bubba in 2009.

The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 14, at 10 am at Queen of Angels Catholic Church followed by a reception in the parish hall. The interment with military honors will follow at 2 pm in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

The service arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
