Leland Edward Mock of Lompoc went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 11, 2016, at the age of 92.

Lee was born October 11, 1923, in Mountain View, Oklahoma, one of nine children born to Frank and Ruby Mock. After completing his education he joined the United States Army and served in Europe during WWII, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star Medal.

After his military service, he returned to Oklahoma where he married his first sweetheart, Arvella, in 1946. He owned and operated Mock Photo Studio in Elk City for many years. He moved his family to California in 1952 and worked in various cities in the Aerospace industry. He settled in Lompoc in 1962 and worked in the 1369th Photographic Squadron at VAFB. After retirement he settled in Buellton.

Lee served as an elder with the Lompoc Church of Christ and dedicated his life to the Lord and serving others. Hobbies included collecting clowns and occasionally dressed up as a clown or Santa to entertain family and friends. He enjoyed creating and gifting floral arrangements from his garden.

Lee was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Arvella R. Mock in 1981 and son Jeffrey L. Mock in 2009. He is survived by his wife Lillian A. Mock of Buellton; brother Bobby Mock of Arkansas; sister Jeanie Landers of Texas; son & daughter-in-law Ron and Debbie Mock of Buellton; daughter & son-in-law Brenda and Larry Horton of Fresno; granddaughter & her husband Kristi and Bobby Singley of Fresno; grandson Jason Lee Mock of Florida; grandson & his wife Jeff & Jennifer Apodaca of San Diego; and great grandsons Caden and Micah Singley.

The funeral service will be Thursday, March 17, at 1pm in the Chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Interment with military honors will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care, Santa Ynez office or Meals on Wheels Senior Center, Buellton.
