Leo F.D. "Mickey" Clinton
1927-2008
Lompoc native Leo F. D. "Mickey" Clinton died Friday, June 20, 2008 at his home in Lompoc at the age of 80.
Born September 23, 1927, to Leo and Veronica Clinton, Mickey was raised in Buellton and the Santa Ynez Valley and graduated from Arroyo Grande High School. He joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific. In 1973 he went to work for the City of Lompoc at the waste water treatment plant. He retired in 1994 as the operations supervisor.
Mickey enjoyed fishing on Lake Cachuma, playing poker, which he learned to play while in the Navy, and was an avid chess player.
His wife Millie preceded him in death in 2001. He is survived by his daughter RoseMary Clinton of San Francisco, his son and daughter-in-law Michael and Maliwan Clinton of Hawthorne, California, grandsons Emerson and Jonathan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In honor of his request, no services will be held. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment. The arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
