Obituary
Leonel Gamboa of Lompoc died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at the age of 54.
Leonel was born July 18, 1954 to Arnulfo and Felipa Gamboa in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He came to the United States in 1982, and has worked as a chef in restaurants in Santa Barbara. He was last employed as a chef in the dormitories at UCSB. He enjoyed watching soccer on TV and cooking for friends.
Leonel is survived by his wife of 19 years, Esperanza Gamboa of Lompoc, his son Leonel Gamboa, Jr. of Lompoc, his daughters Glenda and Lili Gamboa both of Goleta, his brother Jorge Gamboa of Lompoc, two grandchildren anda niece Gesla Huckaby of Lompoc.
The visitation will be on Friday, August 8, 2008 from 4 to 8 pm, with a vigil service starting at 6 pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. The graveside funeral service will be on Saturday, August 9, at 10 am in the pavilion of the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. The arrangements are under the direction of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
