LeRoy Scolari, lifetime resident of Lompoc passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at the age of 89.
He was born in 1932 to Alphonso Scolari and Irma Scolari (Manfrina) at "Nellie Sperber's Sanitarium on the 100 block of South F. Half the town at that time was born there. Until the Lompoc Hospital opened in 1943, that was the place." (From LeRoy's Article, It's All About Community Service , in his own words). LeRoy graduated from UC Berkely in 1954.
LeRoy married Joan Lillian (Amos) Trinkle on October 11, 1963. They were married for 53 years before Joan passed away on November 28, 2016.
LeRoy is survived by his son and daughter through marriage, Monroe T. Trinkle, (Patty) and Sharon M. Burman, (Albert). Grandchildren Michael Dudley, Camille Hosseini, and James M. Burman. Five Great Grandchildren: Logan and Conan Dudley, Cyrus, Kash, and Zahra Hosseini.
He is also survived by his brother and sister, Gerald Scolari, wife Sandra and Rosebel Cameron (Scolari).
In 1964 and 1965, he was the State Grand Master of the Oddfellows Lodge. From 1980 to 1992, he chaired the County Agricultural Element Committee. He served on the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Committee, the Rural Crime Advisory Committee, and for twenty years the Cachuma Resources Conservation District. He also served four years on the California Association of Resource Conservation District Board, was president of the Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau, and in 1987 was Santa Barbara County's Cattleman of the Year. He was the senior past Grand Master of the Oddfellows, and recently, received the honorable Veteran's Award for seventy years of service to the Oddfellows Lodge. LeRoy Scolari was able to see his family's legacy of a wind farm.
The family wishes to thank Lompoc Valley Medical Center, Convalescent Care Center, and all the doctors and staff for the excellent care LeRoy received. We would also like to thank longtime friend Jose Torres for his care and help for over 30 years.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private family service will be held and a Celebration of Life will be planned for the future.
