Memorial services for Lila Caroline Casparis, 84, of Lompoc, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, 925 North F Street, Lompoc with Pastor Steve Petty officiating. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 11 at noon at the West Side District Cemetery, 440 East Cedar Street, Taft, California.
Lila was born January 26, 1926 in Wichita Falls, Texas to John and Minnie Anne Workman. She moved from Wichita Falls to Long Beach, California and graduated from Wilson High. After high school, Lila married Ray Moncier and started a family. She later moved to Taft and worked for Chevron Oil Company as a secretary for 23 years. Saudi Aramco then employed her in 1974 where she worked until her retirement in 1984. Lila moved to Lompoc from Taft in 1992 and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church.
She died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Lompoc Valley Medical Center.
Survivors include her son Timothy Moncier of Lompoc; sister Delores Doyle of Cambria, California; granddaughters Amanda Sailor and Lexi Sailor both of Las Vegas; five great-grandchildren; niece Linda Lardy of Lompoc; nephew Wayne Cook of Ridgecrest, California and cousin Tony Mabry of Yucca Valley, California. She was preceded in death by husbands Raymond Moncier in 1972 and Kenneth Casparis in 2002.
