Shortly after her marriage to John Murphy in 1970, they moved to Lompoc. She worked for the Lompoc Hospital for over thirty years where she proved to be the example of one who uses hard work to start at the bottom and work their way to the top. Her career began as Certified Nursing Assistant, eventually moving into medical records, where she was promoted often and rose to the position of Director of Health Information Management, a position she held till her retirement in June 2007. Linda believed in the betterment of oneself through education and continued hers while working at the hospital receiving her Bachelors Degree form the University of Laverne. In her spare time, she especially enjoyed her family and grandkids. She also enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, gardening and reading.
