On August 26, 2026 Lloyd Leroy Todd, Jr., beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, mentor, co-worker and friend left this physical life behind at age 66 in Lompoc, California as a result of interstitial lung disease. He was born on July 29, 1960 in Los Angeles, California to Lloyd Todd, Sr. and Rose Marie Elliott. Lloyd grew up in Los Angeles in a home full of music, laughter and family alongside his sisters Sandra, Linda, Diane, Cheryl, Lisa, Pam and Donna.
Lloyd graduated from Gardena High School and went on to attend LA Harbor before moving into a specialized career in the engineering and manufacturing industry. Lloyd went on to spend the last 32 years of his career in mission critical quality assurance; serving multiple industries. He carried a deep pride in his work holding himself and those around him to a high standard of care, precision and responsibility. He was always uplifting and encouraging others; providing his experience, knowledge and wisdom with a warm phrase attached - “That’s what I’m talking about!”
In January 1988 Lloyd and Cheri united in holy matrimony. They met through his sister Pamela in Santa Barbara during their college years. Together they built a fulfilling life and raised two children: Daren (Rena) born in1991 and Taurean Lloyd born in 1994.
Lloyd was a man of integrity in his work, in his home and in his devotion to God. Lloyd was baptized on the third day of December 1989. He was passionate about music; especially jazz and rarely spent a moment without it playing somewhere in the background. He loved to laugh and loved even more to make others laugh; always the first to turn a phrase or crack a joke that would get repeated for weeks after.
An avid fisherman, Lloyd found the sport challenging, engaging and deeply relaxing; spending countless weekends casting from the beach or fishing with Cheri off piers on the California coast. He was an artist in every sense; able to play music by ear, skilled with his hands at building and creating and above all, a devoted painter. Over his lifetime he created more than 100 pieces of art, often drawing inspiration from existing works and adding his own distinct voice; ranging from bold abstract compositions to portraits of African peoples and loving depictions of his own family.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his beloved son Taurean "Tauri" Lloyd Todd, his parents Lloyd Sr. and Rose Todd and his sister Linda Carter. Lloyd is survived by his loving and devoted wife Cheri, his son Daren (Rivkah), his sisters and many nieces, nephews and cousins along with a wide circle of extended family, friends and colleagues who loved him.
A memorial celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc, California with interment to follow at 1:00 PM at Lompoc Cemetery.
As an alternative to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
Lloyd will be deeply missed by his family, community, co-workers and friends. He was a light who shared his glow with everyone he encountered and his spirit will leave an everlasting impression on all who knew him.
