Obituary

Lonnie Earl Fleming, 67 years old of Lompoc, California passed away at his home on November 6, 2022, after a long and brave battle with cancer.  Lonnie was born October 4, 1955, in Mobile, Alabama.  Lonnie worked for Computer Science Corp at VAFB as a computer tech for 32 years.  Lonnie was passionate about computers and loved his job.  He received several awards for his outstanding service.  His friends and family relied on him for computer repair, and Lonnie was always happy to oblige.  Lonnie was able to pursue his many hobbies when he retired.  Lonnie enjoyed ocean fishing.  Lonnie would spend many happy days fishing from his kayak at Avila Beach.  Lonnie also enjoyed camping and spent many fun-filled times enjoying the great outdoors.  Lonnie was also an avid gardener and took great pleasure in harvesting fruits and vegetables from his garden.  Lonnie was not shy about pursuing new adventures.  He was thrilled to experience the sport of water jetpacking experience the thrill of skydiving as well as bungee cord jumping.  Lonnie gave to several charities including Boys Town and St. Jude's Hospital

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Myrtle Coleen Fleming and his twin brother Ronnie Earl Fleming

Lonnie is survived by his son Zachery Drake Mangione of San Diego, daughter-in-law Amanda, three beautiful granddaughters Skylee, Roxy, and Ivey, sisters Sharon Buckley of Missouri and Shelia Leach of Santa Maria, brothers Mike Fleming of Lompoc and Jeff Fleming, nephew Shaun Martinez of Lompoc as well as numerous other nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held at the Village Chapel 3915 Constellation Road on November 14, 2022, at 1 pm with Pastor Chuck Musselwhite officiating, burial to follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will be holding a reception immediately following services.  Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
