Loretta A. Lyons of Lompoc died Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the age of 89.
Loretta was born July 3, 1922 in Welborn, Kansas to Roe and Mary Carothers. Raised and educated in Kansas City, she graduated from Wyandotte High School. She married Charles V. Lyons in 1945. Formerly of Sylmar she has been a resident of Lompoc since 1979 when she and her husband opened Avenue Upholstery.
Loretta was a devoted mother. She is survived by her son Lester E. Lyons of Visalia and her daughter Charlene (Fred) Lyons of Sylmar. She is also survived by her sisters Jean Day of Tonganoxie, Kansas and Nita Bruenn of Olathe, Kansas, her grandchildren Dan, Darla and Tammie and her great granddaughter Makayla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004.
At her request no services will be held. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment.
