Loretta H. Paton
1912 – 2009

Loretta H. Paton, 97, of Lompoc passed away on January 14, 2009, at Lompoc Convalescent Care Center.

Loretta was born on August 21, 1912, in Irvington, New Jersey. She married Stanley B. Paton on June 21, 1932. They were married for 42 years before he passed away.

Loretta and Stanley retired and moved to Lompoc in 1964. They came out of retirement and bought and ran Perry's Cleaners on South H Street for many years before retiring again

Loretta loved cats, crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, Bingo and going to the casino. She was an avid Dodger fan following them from Brooklyn. She enjoyed both her grandkids and great grandkids, especially watching the boys play basepall, and shopping with her granddaughter.

Loretta is survived by her sister Margaret Barz, daughter Pat (Albert) Busse, daughter Beverly (Robert) Kennedy, son Richard Paton, grandchildren George (Heather) Hickler, Robert Hickler, Bobby Kennedy, Debbie (Daniel) Rainwater, and Scott Kennedy, great grandchildren Steven (Jen) Hickler, Michele Hickler, George Hickler, Jr., Christine (Bobby) Walker, Tristan Kennedy, Victoria Kennedy, Adriana Gonzales, Haylee Kennedy, Ciera (Robert) Johnson, Joshua Rainwater and Tyler Rainwater, and her one great-great granddaughter Abigail Walker.

Loretta lived to see her family grow to five generations.

She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley and grandson Alan Busse.

She was a loving and caring person who only saw the good in people and never spoke ill of anyone. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 22, at 11 am at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Loretta's favorite charity, Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741.

The Kennedy, Busse and Paton families wish to thank Dr. Riemer, all the staff at the Convalescent Care Center for all the love and care they gave her over the seven years she made it her home.
