Louis Carpio passed away Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after a tough fight against congestive heart failure.

Louis was born March 10, 1928 in Los Angeles, California. He moved to Lompoc in 1949 and has since been proud to be here. He retired from Santa Barbara County Public Works after 25 years of service in their maintenance department. He lived a long, happy life and has filled us all with only good and loving memories. He will be genuinely missed.

He is survived by the love of his life, his best friend and beloved wife Lydia, his brother Espiridion Carpio, sister Vera Cardona, son Louis J. Carpio and wife Nola, daughter Yolanda Russell and husband Ron, daughter Edna Gonzales, daughter Tina Semones and husband Bob; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great granddaughter and a great-great-granddaughter on the way. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Carpio of Solomon, AZ and his father Luis Agiare of Titiquito, Mexico.

A viewing will be held Friday, November 30, 2007 at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Intensive Care Unit in memory of Louis Carpio.
