IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louise A.
Brown
September 13, 1946 – February 9, 2022
Louise Andrea Brown, 75, passed away on February 9, 2022. She was born to Lucille and Andrew Crummy on September 13, 1946 in New York, New York.
She was the second of ten siblings born into the Crummy Clan. As an Air Force brat, her childhood was spent in many places: Norfolk Virginia, El Paso Texas, Puerto Rico, Sacramento and finally Vandenberg.
She graduated from Lompoc High School in 1964 and she was quite happy to spend the rest of her life in the Lompoc Valley. She had a feisty personality and was not afraid to offer an opinion in a conversation.
She was an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction. It was quite common to see a book sticking out of her purse everywhere she went. Sometimes that book would be a crossword puzzle or sudoku book as she enjoyed those mind challenges. At home, she would often have a table set aside for her to work through the latest jigsaw puzzle.
She loved horses and considered them to be the most majestic creatures. But, smaller animals were more her speed and she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with dogs, cats, birds, and other smaller pets. So much so, that she regularly volunteered to house sit for her friends and family when they went on trips so that the animals would not have to be boarded.
She had a fondness for Arts and Crafts of all kinds and was always excited to stroll through the latest festival admiring all the created goods.
While Louise hated cold weather, she loved following the Winter Sports: with Ice Skating placing above all others. While the cold, foggy weather in Lompoc disagreed with her, she was a dedicated Mother who watched every one of her only son's football and baseball games (often in the biggest pile of blankets you might see). This enthusiasm continued when she was blessed with two grandchildren.
She was a devout Christian who enjoyed assisting with Sunday School for the youth.
As a working mother, she had several careers. She was most proud of the 12 years in service to the 30th Space Wing's Force Support Squadron until a stroke robbed her of the ability to assist the Airmen, families, and clubs at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
She is survived by her son's Family (Tony, Lisa, Kaiya & Devin) and her siblings: Carol & Dustin Hoffman, Bob & Christina Cromby, Chuck & Donata Cromby, Julie & Kurt Schmidt, and Ron Rocha. She was also a loving aunt to numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ann Rocha, Margo Conner, Maria Stoneking, and brothers Andrew Crummy and Steve Crummy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 2-4 pm. Call 805-741-3012 for more information.
