Manny was born on January 19th, 1956 to Francisco and Francisca Garcia. He passed away December 14th, 2013 with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank and Carlos, and his beloved dog Keela.
Manny enjoyed the simple life; BBQ at family parties, camping at local beaches, going fishing off of Gaviota Pier, swimming through rivers around the valley, and taking his family, friends and dogs to all the parks around town. Manny enjoyed attending sports from Lompoc YFL to Lompoc High School football and baseball. If you ever seen him at YFL games, he was the "Man in a blue chair" at the end zone of the field cheering on his nephew at every game.
His grandchildren were his life. He absolutely adored them and did whatever he could to make sure there was a smile on their face. When his kids would want to go to the beach, he would pack up right away and go. If you couldn't get ahold of him he was probably at the beach boogie boarding. Manny was an "uncle" to a lot of people in this town. He was a great listener to all the people who needed him. If you had a question, Manny had an answer and a story to go with it. Manny had a different story to tell every day. Manny never had a frown on his face, he was always smiling through everything. His smile and laugh will truly be missed by everyone.
Manny is survived by his wife Gail, daughters Erika and Selena, and son Jared, his grandchildren Michael and Kyá, sisters Olga, Rachel and Gloria and brothers Ruben, Bobby and Julio, along with many nieces and nephews.
Service will be held Thursday December, 19th at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary from 4pm-7pm.
