A funeral mass for Marcel Aime " Marc" Landry, 86, of Lompoc, will be 10 am Monday, December 7, 2015 at La Purisima Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7pm Sunday, December 6th at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
Marcel was born May 31, 1929 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Aime and Viola Landry. He was a Korean and Vietnam War Veteran and retired in 1965 from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He moved to Lompoc in 1965 from Eliot, Maine. In that same year, he began working for the Lompoc Police Department and retired from there after 20 years. During that time, he attended and graduated from Allan Hancock College. He also spent five years with the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's office in the welfare fraud department. Marc was a member of the Lompoc Elks Lodge #2274 and the Fleet Reserve Association.
He died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
Survivors include his wife of 65 year Kathleen Landry of Lompoc; daughter, Kathleen Morris of Lompoc; son, Donald (Lissa) Landry of Lompoc; brother, Dr. Donald L. Landry of Springfield, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Joshua (Nina) Hedrick, Jason Morris, Travis Morris, Brett Landry, Scott Landry, Ben Landry and Sarah Landry; great grandson Aidan Hedrick and great granddaughter Rylie Hedrick.
