Marcia Louise Wicks, a longtime resident of Lompoc, California, died on Saturday, November 7, 2020
Marcia was born on January 21, 1934, in Artesian, South Dakota, to Clarence and Cecelia More Satter.
Marcia was a graduate of Artesian High School and attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She married Kenneth Wicks, and they had three children, Karen, Mitchell, and Kristen. She and Kenneth moved to Lompoc in 1963. From 1976 until her retirement she was a secretary at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
Marcia was an elder, a deacon, a member of the choir and the handbell choir at the First Presbyterian Church. Until recently she regularly attended the First United Methodist Church of Lompoc. She was affiliated with the Miguelito Chapter and past matron of the Eastern Star #1760, and a charter member and past president of the Chapter SQ, P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was active in American Field Service, Girl Scouts, Job's Daughters, the Lompoc YMCA, was a member of the Lompoc Hospital Women's Auxiliary, Lompoc Valley Republican Women's Club, and the Lompoc Valley Master Chorale.
Marcia was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 1979. She is survived by her children Karen (James) Wicks-Walden of Camano Island, Washington, Mitchell (Maddie) Wicks of Longmont, Colorado, and Kristen (Caren) Wicks-Mandoyan of El Segundo, California; grandchildren Kenneth (Alice) Walden, Ellen Walden, Meredith Ashley Wicks, William Cody Wicks, Austin Mandoyan, and Jacob Mandoyan, and one great-granddaughter Clarissa Walden.
