IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margot I.
Townsend
March 23, 1929 – March 17, 2026
Margot Townsend was born March 23rd, 1929, in Walldorf Germany. Margot passed peacefully in her home in Lompoc on March 17th, a few days shy of turning 97. Margot met her true love John in 1948 in Germany where she would help wash the American soldiers’ clothes in exchange for food. Despite the language barrier the two fell in love and were married for 70 years until John passed. They had two sons Johnny and Jimmy. Margot was known for selling Avon for 35 years and home knits to the community of Lompoc and the surrounding areas. Some of her favorite hobbies included biking, hiking, camping, knitting, baking, and feeding anyone who walked through her door. Her cinnamon rolls, lemon cake, and strawberry roll were famous! Margot loved her hometown in Germany and always had stories to share. Margot is survived by her two sons, two daughters-in-laws, ten grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She was known to many as Omi. Her memory will forever live in our hearts. Services will be held at Lompoc Cemetery on May 1st at 10:30am.
