Marian M. Petersen passed peacefully on May 1st, 2025. A beloved Mother, grandmother, and friend. Marian was born on Sept. 28, 1932, in Roseland, Nebraska. She was the youngest of nine children of Frank and Louisa Mangers. She enjoyed her childhood growing up in small-town middle America. She met her future husband, Delbert L. Petersen, at a barn dance. Soon they married and had 3 boys. Delbert, Marian, and the boys moved to Santa Barbara in 1958 for work and warmer weather. Once settled, they completed their family with baby Jack. As the boys grew, Marian worked in a cafeteria for the Santa Barbara school system. They had active boys playing sports and enjoying Lake Nacimiento to all it had to offer.

Marian is preceded in death by her parents and all but one sister, Lucille; she is also preceded by her son, Danny, and beloved husband, Delbert. She is survived by her 3 sons - Dale (Debbie), Gene (Roberta), and Jack (Doreen). Her 7 grandchildren, Jason (Christy), Riana (Alex), David (Jessica), Kelley, Jamie (Mike), Wyatt (Kloy), Clayton (Morgan), and 15 great grandchildren. She will be interned at Calvary Cemetery in Santa Barbara next to her beloved husband Delbert's grave.

A one-hour viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 13th at 8:30 am at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc, followed by a Graveside Burial at 11:00 am at Calvary Cemetery in Santa Barbara.
