Marian Smith if Lompoc died Friday, March 27, 2009, at the age of 73.
She was born September 29, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to Harry and Florance Hanson. She was married to the late Norman Smith who was an Electricians Mate in the U.S. Navy. They were stationed in Waukegan, Illinois and later Long Beach, California. They moved their family to Lompoc in 1962.
Marian was a lifelong homemaker and a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She loved working in her garden, camping and fishing at Lake Cachuma, and tea parties with her church friends.
Marian is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Cathy Smith of Roy, Washington and her son Barry Smith of Lompoc and her brother Raymond Hanson of Lake Mary, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman in 2001 and her daughter Jill in 1968.
Pastor John Real will lead a memorial service on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 11 am at Peace Lutheran Church, 1000 West Ocean in Lompoc. Memorial contributions may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
