Mariechen "Maria" O'Dwyer of Lompoc died Thursday, December 20, 2012, at the age of 80.
Maria was born March 19, 1932, in Oberseemen, Germany to Johannes and Lina Kneipp. She married Joseph O'Dwyer, Jr., in France in 1954. Formerly of Merced, she has been a resident of Lompoc since 1959.
Maria was a lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, walking and attending holiday services at the Vandenberg Air Force Base Chapel.
Maria is survived by her son David O'Dwyer, Sr., of Lompoc, her grandsons Grant O'Dwyer and David O'Dwyer, Jr., her great granddaughter Francesca and her sister Anna Schecher of Frankfort, Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years in 2008.
The nicheside service will be on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 1 pm in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
