Obituary

MARILYN MATSUE STOCKTON
1921-2008

Marilyn Stockton, nee Matsue Iwanaka, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2008 after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was 87.

Marilyn was born in Hilo, Hawaii on January 24, 1921. She moved to Lompoc, California with her husband in 1979 from New Jersey, after having traveled the world as a military dependent.

She loved socializing and traveling in their RV to casinos across the country where she played bingo, poker, and the slot machines.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Joseph Stockton, her daughter Sandra Woo, grandsons Justin, Jason (Kristen), Jonathan (Melinda), and six beautiful great grandchildren Sascha, Marley, Braeden, Malia, Hayze, and Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her son Russell Wayne Stockton, her parents Shinzuchi Iwanaka and Chiye Tasaka, and her ten brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 6 at 5:00 p.m. at Santa Maria Terrace (formerly Atria Maria del Sol), located at 1405 E. Main Street, Santa Maria, California. This is where Marilyn enjoyed her retirement living during the past six months. We know she wanted to thank the wonderful staff there for their kindness and caring ways. She also would like to thank the staff at Marian Hospital and Villa Maria Health Care Center for their kindness during her last two weeks.

Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, Lompoc.
