Obituary

Mark Charles Hubert, 42, of Lompoc, died at his home Sunday, June 8, after a long and mighty fight with Cancer.

He was born March 1, 1972, in Lompoc, California to the late Richard Henry Hubert and Carol Ann Hubert (Garnsey). Mark graduated from Lompoc Senior High School in 1990; Santa Barbara Business College in 1998, and Universal Technical Institute in 2004.

Mark was a tattoo enthusiast and longtime Dodger fan. He enjoyed traveling and loved to barbecue with family and friends. He held a special love for holidays of all sorts, most notably Halloween and Christmas. He was known to "pull out all the stops," creating his own elaborate haunted house for Halloween and stringing lights and tinsel all over for Christmas.

Mark is survived by his wife, Laura Larios-Hubert, a son and step-daughter, Carlos Hubert and Andrea Ochoa, of Lompoc, three brothers, Tony Hubert and Steve Hubert of Lompoc, Chris Hubert of Fillmore, California, a sister, Michelle Hubert of Laughlin, Nevada and several nieces and nephews.

Even towards the end, Mark insisted upon hope. While at USC for treatment recently he proclaimed on Facebook, "Onward and upward ... fight the good fight and win, win, win. Again, thank you and love you all..."

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the "Mark Hubert Memorial Fund" established at Coast Hills Federal Credit Union.
