Obituary

Marshall H. Anderson, 80, of Lompoc passed away on Monday, April 19, 2010. Marshall was born on January 29, 1930 to Helmer and Myrtle Anderson in Osseo, Wisconsin. He was the third of seven children and grew up on a dairy farm in rural Wisconsin.

Marshall joined the Army at the age of 17. He had various jobs within the military, but worked mostly in the infantry. He proudly served in the Korean War. He would later be stationed in various locations throughout the world, in Germany and Iran, as well as stateside. Marshall met his bride, Carol while in Iran. The two would have three children. Upon his retirement from the Army, he worked as a school bus driver for 11 years here in Lompoc. His hobbies include gardening, reading history, traveling and enjoying his seven grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Carol; his children Tom (Beth) Anderson of Bellevue, Washington, Lynn (Lyn) Boop of Lancaster and Karen (Chris) Olson of Fresno; his grandchildren, Blake, Erik, and Roxanne Anderson, Madelynn and Jocelyn Boop , Lane and Miles Olson; his siblings Harlo, Marlon, and Richard Anderson, and Jeannette Metteson, all of Wisconsin. Marschall was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Smith and brother, Jed Anderson.

A memorial funeral service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 9:00am at the La Purisma Catholic Church, followed by internment at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery, with full military honors by the United States Army. Services are under the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Memorial contributions can be made in the name of Marshall Anderson to the La Purisma Conception Catholic School.
