IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha D.
Allmon
May 22, 1939 – February 24, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Martha D. Allmon, on February 24, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was 85 years old.
Martha was born to Jose Rogelio Rojas and Maria Eugenia Orellana, on May 22, 1939 in San Salvador, El Salvador, Central America. She grew up in Santa Tecla, a suburb of San Salvador. She recalled her childhood with much fondness and often recounted touching stories of her youth. Martha was an avid reader. She enjoyed everything from classical literature to true-crime novels. After graduating from High School as Valedictorian of her class, she gained employment as a governmental secretary for the Minister of Agriculture of El Salvador, often taking on the most demanding tasks.
In 1970 she and her young son immigrated to Lompoc, California, where she met and married Willie J. Allmon. Martha loved Lompoc and was proud to have raised her family there. Martha was a devout Catholic and enrolled her children at La Purisima Catholic School in Lompoc, citing the importance of drawing close to Jesus and His teachings. A strong proponent of education, she was most proud when both of her children became professionals.
In her retirement years, she and her husband Willie spent their summers operating their family-owned business, the Shrine-Drive-Thru Tree, in the California Redwoods. She was very social and enjoyed meeting new people. She had many friends and loved spending time with them.
Martha was truly a caring individual. She adored her family. She always had the biggest smile when she was around her grandchildren. They provided her so much love and joy. She could not resist smothering them with hugs and kisses and playing boardgames and hide-n-seek with them. She was also quick with teachable moments and with offering advice.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Allmon, brothers Rodolfo Rojas and sister Berta Rojas (Davidovich). She is survived by her brother Alejandro (Alex) Rojas, dearest friend/sister Maria Lydia Baltierra, son Oscar (Frances) Rojas, daughter Carmen Munguia, and grandchildren Jacqueline, Oscar, Kaitlyn and Victoria.
