Marvin Jamison passed away peacefully at home early Saturday, October 4, 2014. Marv was 60 years old. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to California in 1963 as his father was stationed at Vandenberg AFB. Marv graduated from Cabrillo High School in 1972 and was married in 1973 in Lompoc to his wife Selene Jamison. He obtained an AA degree from Allan Hancock College and furthered his education at Humboldt State University, Eureka, CA in the study of forestry.
Marv leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Selene Jamison; his mother Maxine Jamison; Brother Les Jamison; Sister Nancy Carlo (Jamison); in-laws and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Jamison.
Marv worked primarily as a salesperson with Sears for over 20 years and last worked for Valley Flooring. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, which he shared with his wife. One of the greatest loves was bass fishing and he participated in many tournaments with a local Bass Fishing Club in Lompoc. He enjoyed fishing with his wife as his partner along with many other friends over the years. Marv was an avid skeet shooter and won several trophies in local tournaments. He also enjoyed the pets that he shared with his wife. He had a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Pepper, and his many cockatiels, 2 of which were rescued by him.
A memorial service is planned for Monday, October 13, 2014 at 7: 00 pm at the First Christian Church, 1517 West College Avenue, Lompoc.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Marv.
