Beloved wife of Stacy Byrd. Loving mother of Teresa (Ron Pound), Sharon (Mark Baird), Robert (Christine Gruhn), Michael (Elizabeth), Mary (Dan Atler), and Steven (Michele Lee). Caring grandmother of Randall, Noah, Kelsey, Chris, David, Seth, Natalie, Marcus, Johnny, Andrew, Nicholas, Mackenzie, and Serena. Cherished daughter of Florence (nee Hennessey) and Harry O'Brien. Affectionate sister of Sister Mary Ann O'Brien and John O'Brien (predeceased, survived by his beloved wife, Betty). Kind aunt to John and Betty's children Kathleen, John, Mary Pat, Bridget, Margaret, James, Daniel, David, and Michael and great aunt of their 24 grandchildren.

Charlotte devoted her life to family, faith, friends, education, and helping others. She displayed a love of learning her entire life. After having six children, she earned a Bachelor's degree (Psychology), 3 Master's degrees (Education, Counseling and Guidance, Counseling Psychology) and a PhD (Psychology). In her professional career in Lompoc, California, Charlotte touched the lives of thousands as a teacher at El Camino Elementary School, a counselor at Vandenberg Middle School, and a licensed marriage, family, and child counselor in private practice.

Charlotte was loved and respected by her large family and a wide circle of friends, colleagues, and counselees. Her heartwarming and generous spirit lives on in all those blessed by her kindness, encouragement, laughter, and love.

The Byrd Family deeply appreciates the excellent care that Charlotte received from the staff at Sunridge, SNF, Vista del Monte Retirement Community in her final months.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, February 17 at 10 AM at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 3495 Rucker Rd, Lompoc, CA 93436. A graveside burial and blessing will follow the mass at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery, 600 South C Street, Lompoc, CA. Please join family and friends for a reception at Queen of Angels Catholic Church following the burial at around 12:30 PM.
