MARY CHIODI
Vigil services for Mary Chiodi, 92, of Lompoc, will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at La Purisima Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
Mary was born June 20, 1915 in Santa Ynez, California to Joseph and Mary Busi Chiodi. Prior to moving to Lompoc in 1988, she had lived in Burbank for 31 years and also San Luis Obispo for 31 years. She retired in 1983 from Gelson's Market in Encino where she had worked as a delicatessen clerk for 11 years. As a proud member of their local grocer's union, she never missed a meeting. Mary was an avid gardener who loved her pets and enjoyed cooking.
She died Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Convalescent Care Center in Lompoc.
Her parents preceded her in death and brothers, Joseph and Bert Chiodi. She is survived by her beloved dog, Kristina.
Visitation hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
