Mary Ann Cotton, 71, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at Lompoc Valley Medical Center. She was born October 16, 1944 in Adona, Arkansas to Harry and Mildred Yarbough Pilkington. She moved to California in 1945 and did agricultural work during her early childhood. For the past 35 years, Mary was a homemaker. Her favorite pastimes included watching the rain, crocheting and sewing, cooking, baking and loving her grandkids.
Mary is survived by her four children; Lonny Swan, Jeffrey Swan, Deanne McCammon (John), and Sandra Cotton-Parent; 11 grandchildren Steven, Manuel, Daniel Swan, Tim Swan, Victoria Swan, John McCammon Jr., David (Eva) McCammon, Tiffany Kerstner, Matthew McCammon, Mikayla Kerstner, Rodnie Parent and Mary Ann Swan; brothers Ed (Mercedes) Pilkington, Larry Pilkington and Jimmy Pilkington; sisters Martha (Mike) Williams and Judy Larsen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death in by her loving husband Russell D. Cotton in 2002 after 20 years of marriage. She was also preceded by her father Harry in 1993 and mother Mildred in 2002; brothers Roger Pilkington in 1983 and James Pilkington in 1992, and sister Maxine Beltran Alegre in 2001.
At her request, no ceremony will be held. Mary's family will gather for a private celebration of her life.
