Memorial services for Mary Ann Gile, 73, of Lompoc, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2007 at the First Christian Church, 1517 West College Avenue in Lompoc with Pastor Bob Cornwall officiating. Private inurnment will be at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

Mary Ann was born August 8, 1934 in Cambridge, Mass. to Nathan and Elizabeth Cullen Perry. She has resided in Lompoc since 1966 and was a member of the First Christian Church. Her favorite pastimes included traveling, collecting dolls and bears, baking and watching various sports. She loved her family and her unofficially adopted military daughters.

She died Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at Lompoc Hospital of complications from blood clots in her lungs.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Bill Gile; sons, Bob Gile and wife, Cheryl of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Bill Gile, Jr. and wife, Kim of Lompoc; daughter, Beth Taporco and husband, Paul of Derby, Kansas; brother, Nathan Richard Perry, Jr. of Ocean City, Maryland; grandchildren, Thera, Nathan, Kristin, Kory, Paul, Crea, Crystal and Jason; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the First Christian Church or the American Cancer Society, 604 East Ocean Ave. Lompoc 93436.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
