Mary Macias Hernandez
1932 – 2009
Mary Macias Hernandez of Lompoc died on Wednesday, March 25, 2009. She was born in Waco, Texas, on May 13, 1932, to Ignacio and Denis Macias. At the age of 10, Mary and her family moved to Lompoc.
While attending Lompoc High School, Mary met her future husband, John Hernandez.
Mary worked for 15 years assisting others in the job placement field for the Unemployment Department.
Mary was a member of La Purisima Catholic Church. She loved her family and enjoyed sports.
Mary is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Anna Hernandez of Lompoc, Joe and Lisa Hernandez of Cleveland, Ohio, Larry Hernandez, and Bart and Vicky Hernandez, all of Lompoc; her daughter, Mary Hernandez of Lompoc; a sister, Rebecca M. Nuncio, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John in 2005.
Private services will be held. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
