"THOSE WHO LAUGH OFTEN NEVER GROW OLD"

Mary Lloyd, 95, closed her eyes to eternal peace on April 29, 2021, at the age of 95. She was born in Alabama.

Mary was a dedicated Services employee where she worked for 48 years at Vandenberg Air Force Base Lodging Operations.  She was known in the community as "Mama Mary". Her dedication and work ethic was evident, throughout her years of service she received many awards for Employee of the month, Employee of the Quarter, and Employee of the year. She also received an outstanding performer award for tireless dedication and support given to the 2007 LeMay Evaluation Team.

Mary resided in Lompoc since 1965 and was a lifelong member of the Trinity Church of Nazarene. She was also a part of the Women's Prayer Team and the VAFB Bowling League. Mary was a big sports fan and she loved the Dodgers and Lakers and never missed watching a game! She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping. She also loved gardening, planting flowers, and solving crossword puzzles. Her infectious smile and laugh got her the nickname "Giggle Box".

We are so grateful for her life and legacy. We have treasured memories in our hearts always and forever.  It is hard to put in words the amount of laughter, fun, and unconditional love she showed and received from so many people. Mary was a phenomenal woman who brought so much joy to life.

She is survived by her son Reverend Willie Pitts and wife Yvonne Pitts (Detroit, MI) and daughter-in-laws Sandra Lloyd (Lompoc, CA) Dorothy M. Terrell (Montgomery AL). One Niece Debra and husband John Williams (Montgomery, AL).  Two nephews Eddie and wife Margaret Vaughans-Terrell (Montgomery AL), Willie, and wife Carole Vaughans-Terrell (Montgomery, AL). Five grandchildren Victoria Henry and husband Donald Henry (Los Angeles, CA) Monique Lloyd (Lompoc, CA) Tomika Pitts (Cincinnati OH) Shaun Lee (Cincinnati OH) Vaughn Lee (Cincinnati, OH), and many great-grandchildren and numerous extended family.

The family would like to express appreciation for the tender care provided by the caregivers Annette Rodgers, Lavonia Nicole Ford, and Nicola Howell and the wonderful services provided by the Superior Healthcare Team.

A celebration of life service for Mary will be held Friday, May 14, 2021, at 12:30 P.M. at Trinity Church of the Nazarene.
