IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Bridget
Mccaffrey
May 8, 1933 – April 28, 2025
Mary Bridget (Hyland) McCaffrey, age 91, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, in Lompoc, California. Born on May 8, 1933, in Banaho, County Cavan, Ireland, she lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep compassion, and enduring strength.
Mom's journey from the rolling hills of Ireland to the heart of California was one defined by resilience and love. Her strong work ethic and quiet determination were admired by all who knew her. Whether tackling a project or offering a listening ear, she approached every task and relationship with grace and purpose. Many a problem was solved over a cup of tea with Mom.
Her faith in God was the cornerstone of her life. She not only lived her beliefs but instilled them in those around her, teaching the importance of faith, hope, and love through both word and example. Her spiritual devotion was evident in every aspect of her life and served as a guiding light for her family.
Mary was an extraordinary mother, mentor, and friend. Her guidance shaped generations; her love uplifted countless lives. She had a gentle presence that offered comfort and clarity during life's most challenging moments. Her children remember her not only as their mother but as their greatest teacher—someone whose wisdom came not from grand speeches but from quiet acts of kindness and steadfast support. Mom's sense of humor and quick wit never failed to keep her family laughing.
She is survived by her beloved sister Susan; Sister-in-law Eileen Hyland, her children: Dan (Gretchen), Tom (Christine,) Jim (Kirsten), John (Tanya), Mary, Josephine (Steven); her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were touched by her warmth.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, John; their infant daughter, Little Margaret; her parents, Lawrence & Bridget; her sister Margaret; brothers Matthew, Larry, and Charlie.
