Mary Frances Santa Maria of Lompoc died Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the age of 83.
Mary was born on December 26, 1924 to Frances and Anthony Santa Maria in Los Angeles. Her family moved to Santa Barbara in 1935 where she completed her education, graduating from Santa Barbara High School with the class of 1942. Employed as a civil servant she worked for the United States Air Force in various parts of the world including France and Thailand. She returned to Santa Barbara County in 1972 and retired from civil service in 1994.
Mary was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She loved living in Lompoc, especially meals with friends at Sissy's Uptown Café.
Her brother Eugene Santa Maria of Murray, Utah and her sister Ellie Fisk-Cain of Sea Hurst, Washington survive Mary.
Cremation will be followed by private inurnment in the Calvary Cemetery in Santa Barbara. Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary
