Mary Agnes Serres Carter, formally of Lompoc, died peacefully on November 13, 2016 at her daughter's home. Born September 1, 1930 to George and Cecila (Marsalek) Serres. Mary was a Lompoc native and was known to most as "Aggie". She graduated from Lompoc High School in 1950 and worked at Lompoc Hospital and Convalescent Care Center for over 22 years as a diet aide. After retirement, she continued her commitment to serving as a volunteer in the hospital gift shop. Aggie loved her Catholic faith and attended the Queen of Angels Catholic Church until recent years when she moved to Castaic.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Morales (Leonard); sons Randall Carter (Janet) and James Carter (Kelly); grandchildren Lewis Hoskinson, Scott Carter, Bryan Carter, Cody Carter and Chelsea Carter. Aggie was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Anton Serres, and longtime companion Robert Tidball.
Aggie loved to pray with Mother Angelica daily and visits with her family. Mass will be held at La Purisima Catholic Church on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 12:30 pm. Graveside services to follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
