Life long resident of Lompoc Max F. Martinez, 83, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007. Max was born January 11, l924 in Lompoc to Pedro and Anastacia (Flores) Martinez.
Max was a truck driver for over 50 years. For 30 years he worked for Lompoc Trucking Company. He was a Member of Teamsters Union Local # 381, the J.M. Club of Lompoc, and the Lompoc Elks Lodge # 2274. Max was also a member of La Purisima Catholic Church.
A Visitation will be at Starbuck–Lind Mortuary Sunday March 11, from 2 to 4 P.M. with a vigil service at 7 P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 12, at La Purisima Catholic Church by Father Tom Cook. Burial will follow in Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
Max is Survived by His daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Tom Johnson of Lompoc; one brother, Daniel F. Martinez of Buena Park; two special nephews, Larry Martinez of Lompoc and Robert Martinez of Diamond Bar; three grandchildren, Francine Martinez of Lompoc, Christopher Martinez of Palm Desert, and Travis and Jerri Johnson of Mt. Home, Idaho, and his special pet Roma. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Frances Martinez, his son Pete Martinez, and two brothers, Tony F. and Joe F. Martinez.
Arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc.
