Obituary

Michael "Mikie" Mark Limon was born April 19, 1985 and passed away unexpectedly on June 4th, 2022. Mikie grew up and spent most of his life in Lompoc, Ca. He was a happy and mischievous kid. He loved hanging out with the Get-Along Gang which was comprised of his older sister Tricia and cousins Lico & Moni.

Mikie grew up participating in sports and enjoyed writing and rapping with various local artists.
Along with his creative expression came an un-matched confidence, style, and an appetite for the finer things in life. He loved to dress fly, have a fresh cut, and sporting the latest Jordans. He was very popular with the ladies being that he had an infectious gorgeous smile and magnetic personality. He was also known to be generous, if he was having crab legs, filet mignon and a good bottle of champagne…you were too!

Mikie's life crossed many paths which lead to many lifelong friendships. If you knew him, you knew Mimo. They dated throughout high school and into his early adulthood. Mimo was one of the great loves of his life and she always held a special place in his heart.

Mikie graduated from Lompoc High School, class of 2003. After graduation he enlisted with the U.S. Army and was deployed to Afghanistan. Serving two years with the 3-71 Cavalry Regiment "Titans" 10th Mountain Division. Mikie was involved in several firefights earning a Combat Infantryman Badge along with an Army Accommodation medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and a NATO Medal. During his deployment, 80% of his unit was involved in one of the worst fire fights and they all perished. Mikie took it very hard and suffered from Survivors Syndrome. He received an Honorable Discharge after he was involved in an incident with a roadside IED that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. He used humor in coping with his experience and joked about being retired at the age of 26.

Shortly after his return home from deployment he met Leslie and "put a ring on it". He spent the next Five years in Arizona with his wife Leslie. While in Arizona he completed barber school and passed the state exams. He loved the camaraderie of the barbershop and would often tell stories of the Phoenix Suns players coming to the shop. He returned to Lompoc in 2016 and felt blessed to be able to see his daughter Blayce Campbell more frequently, she brought him calm and happiness.

Mikie is survived by his daughter, Blayce Haven Campbell, mother, Michelle Limon, father, Michael Limon, maternal Grandparents, Fred & Virginia (Gina) Grimes and paternal Grandparents, Roberto & Ruth Limon, sisters, Patricia and Adriana Limon, niece, Angellica Delatorre, nephews, Juan, Christopher and Nicholas Madrigal. Mikie was extremely close with his cousins Lico Najera, who was like an older brother to him and Monica Alonzo, who was like a sister to him as well. Mikie loved his Tio (Leyho Najera) and his Tia (Diane Najera) who are also his Godparents. Mikie loved Marci, Ant Dawg, P, Tay, G, Milie and Teagan (his cousins' children) all very much as well. Mikie is preceded in death by his maternal Grandfather, Ronald Mark Jamison, who Mikie is also named after. Mikie considered his 'Brothers' in Arms' family and who now have the watch from here on out.
