Michael Thomas Newell passed away at his home in Lompoc, California at the age of 48. He was the beloved son of the late Thomas Michael Newel and is survived by his mother, Kimie Newell, and his older sister Joanna Newell.
Michael was a lover of music and as a child learned to play the guitar and through the years became an accomplished guitarist. Guitar being his passion, he was involved in various musicals and was in a well-known band for many years. His family and friends always enjoyed his guitar playing. He was raised in Okinawa, Japan and Lompoc, California. He graduated from Cabrillo High school. He was very knowledgeable of computers.
Michael was married to Rebecca Cochrane Newell for many years. She preceded him in death earlier this year.
A celebration of life will be held later.
