Obituary

Vigil services for Miguel "Chapo" Cabrera, 44, of Lompoc, will be 5 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at La Purisima Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Cook officiating. Private burial will be at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

Chapo was born November 4, 1962 in San Luis, Sonora, Mexico to Jose and Carmen Coronado Cabrera. He lived for most of his life in Lompoc and enjoyed working as a truck driver. Chapo's favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, and barbecuing. But most of all, he loved his family.

He died Tuesday July 3, 2007 in Santa Barbara.

Survivors include his mother, Carmen Cabrera of Lompoc; sons, Luis and Anthony Cabrera, both of Lompoc; sisters, Maria Cabrera of Lompoc and Leticia Cabrera of Santa Maria; brothers, Jose and Reyes Cabrera, both of Lompoc; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Cabrera in 1993.

Visitation hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
