We are saddened to share the passing of our father, Miguel, at the age of 94 on May 28, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.
Miguel was born on October 30, 1931, in Presidio, Texas, to Wenceslado Guerrero and Manuela Montez Guerrero. He was the 7th of 8 children. Miguel came to Lompoc in 1950 via way of Fort Handcock, Texas, and Carlsbad, New Mexico. On December 1, 1955, he married the love of his life, Olivia Garza, until her death on October 29, 2003. Together they raised 3 children: Michael Guerrero, Anna (Joe) Ruiz, and Elisa Guerrero, all of Lompoc.
Miguel was an avid San Francisco Giants fan since 1951. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, watching Western movies, and gambling at the casino. Miguel worked at Johns-Manville for 43 years as a leadman in the tunnel. After retirement, he went back to work at the Chumash Casino for 2 years.
Miguel is preceded in death by his wife, Olivia; his parents, sister’s Dulces Cadena, Logracia Venegas, Eva Bobo, and Rosa Garcia. Brothers Julio, Ramon, and Manuel Guerrero; son Carlos Guerrero, and granddaughter Dyana Ruiz.
